Key Product Information

Additional Information

FITMENT Universal diagnostic tool for most passenger vehicles and light trucks with standard radiator necks and coolant caps. Tests cooling systems and caps up to 30 psi; additional adapter sets are available for specific makes/types as needed.
SYMPTOMS Use this tester to confirm causes of overheating, coolant loss, or sweet coolant odor; to check for leaks at hoses, radiator, heater core, water pump, or head‑gasket related pressure rise; and to verify a suspect coolant cap that cannot hold rated pressure.
TROUBLESHOOTING Rapid pressure drop indicates an external leak; a vibrating gauge needle with engine running can indicate combustion gases entering the cooling system (possible head‑gasket issue). Recheck cap gaskets for impressions that may affect sealing; lightly wet new cap gaskets to aid sealing.
INSTALLATION
MAINTENANCE
GENERAL_NOTES For cap testing: remove cap when cool; select correct adapter; attach to tester; pump until the cap opens at its rated pressure and verify it holds within the specified color band for ~30 seconds. For system testing: fill to proper level, clean filler neck, install tester (with adapter if required), pump to the vehicle’s specified pressure without exceeding 30 psi, and observe the gauge for pressure drop to locate leaks. Always use the pressure‑release before removal. Gauge reads in psi and kPa. Kit includes common adapters; some vehicles require brand‑specific adapters (e.g., VW/Audi, BMW threaded necks, various GM/Ford styles).
FAULT_CODES No direct diagnostic trouble codes apply to this tool; it is used to help diagnose cooling‑system faults that may accompany drivability or overheating complaints.
