| FITMENT | Universal kit for most U.S. & import engines that use the small 2-3/4" O‑ring oil filter pad. Includes thread adapters 3/4-16, 13/16-16, M18x1.5, and M20x1.5. Not intended for Chevrolet/GM V8 applications that use the large 3-1/2" O‑ring (use Hayden 214 for those). All remote mounts use Ford‑type filters (e.g., FRAM PH8A). Remote mount has 3/8" NPT ports. Use Hayden #112 hose for engine‑oil plumbing. Hoses not included. | SYMPTOMS | A faulty or incorrectly installed remote filter mount can cause oil leaks, low oil pressure, or delayed oil pressure buildup after start. Watch for oil spots, burning‑oil smell, flickering oil pressure light, or noisy valvetrain immediately after installation. |
| TROUBLESHOOTING | If oil pressure is low or fluctuating, verify hose routing (engine adapter OUT to remote IN; remote OUT back to engine), ensure the correct thread bushing is used for the engine pad, confirm the kit matches the pad O‑ring size (2-3/4"), and re‑seal any leaking NPT fittings. Where hose passes near exhaust with <6" clearance, Hayden recommends using a metal line kit to prevent heat damage. |
| INSTALLATION | Follow Hayden procedure: keep hoses away from exhaust/sharp edges; maintain minimum 3" bend radius; cut hoses 1" longer than measured; do not overtighten clamps; apply thread sealant/Teflon tape to fittings and tighten to ~15 ft‑lb; verify IN/OUT flow orientation on both the engine adapter and remote mount; prime the new filter with oil when possible; start engine and confirm immediate oil pressure, then check for leaks and top off oil. |

| GENERAL NOTES | Remote mount accepts Ford‑type PH8A filters or equivalents. This kit is non‑thermostatic. For Chevy/GM large O‑ring V8 applications use Hayden 214. Use #112 (1/2") hose for engine oil; #105 (11/32") for transmission fluid if used in that context. |
