| SYMPTOMS | Clogged or water-saturated separator can cause hard starting, rough idle, reduced power, and a Water-In-Fuel warning. Common related DTCs include P2269 (Water in Fuel) and P0087 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low). |
| TROUBLESHOOTING | If low-fuel-pressure or water-in-fuel warnings persist after replacement, check for contaminated fuel, leaking lines, restricted pre-filter, or failing lift pump. Ensure the correct separator is used (this part fits Ram 6.7L Cummins; Ford Power Stroke platforms use different Motorcraft kits). |
| INSTALLATION | Drain water from old filter. Transfer the water-in-fuel sensor/bowl to the new filterÂ’s M36 x 1.5 open port with a new seal. Lightly oil the gasket, spin on until gasket contacts, then tighten ~3/4 turn. Prime the fuel system per vehicle procedure before starting. |
