| SYMPTOMS | Typical failure signs include a ‘bulb out’ warning, hyper?flash on turn signals, dim/absent DRL or reverse illumination. On some BMW F22/F87 tail lamps, ground wiring issues can also cause intermittent reverse/indicator faults. |
| TROUBLESHOOTING | If a new bulb does not light, inspect the socket for corrosion/heat damage and check vehicle grounds (known issue on some F22/F87 assemblies). If upgrading to LED, use CANBUS?compatible 7440/W21W to avoid bulb?check errors or add appropriate load resistors. |
| INSTALLATION | Power off, access the lamp housing, and pull the wedge bulb straight out. Avoid touching the glass with bare fingers; seat the new bulb fully so both wedge contacts engage. Use only 21W W21W (7440) single?filament bulbs—do not substitute W16W, H21W, or dual?filament W21/5W (7443). |
