| SYMPTOMS | Common signs of a failed/melted blower resistor connector include the cabin fan working only on the highest speed, some speeds inoperative, intermittent/no blower operation, or a burnt/melted plug and plastic odor. |
| TROUBLESHOOTING | Inspect the resistor/control module and connector for heat damage or corrosion. Check blower motor current draw—an aging motor can over?amp and overheat the connector. Measure for voltage drop across the connector under load; high resistance indicates the pigtail should be replaced along with the resistor and possibly the motor. |
| INSTALLATION | Disconnect battery. Match and splice the five wires color?for?color using solder and heat?shrink or quality crimp butt connectors. Provide strain relief and route the 6-inch leads away from hot/moving parts. Ensure terminals are fully seated; poor contact causes repeat overheating. |
