SYMPTOMS Hard starting or no‑start, engine stalling under load, hesitation, loss of power, long crank time, inaccurate fuel gauge (failed sender), or fuel pump not priming. Low fuel pressure may trigger P0087 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low); electrical issues in the pump circuit may set P0230 (Fuel Pump Primary Circuit).
TROUBLESHOOTING Confirm fuel pressure with a gauge at the rail; inspect pump power/ground, relay, and fuse; verify clean, tight grounds at frame/tank; check for restricted strainer or contaminated fuel; listen for 2–3 second prime on key‑on; inspect quick‑connect lines for leaks after service.
INSTALLATION Relieve fuel system pressure and support the tank. Clean or replace a contaminated tank and always install the new seal/O‑ring provided. Ensure the module’s float arm moves freely and clock the top hat to match the tank. Reconnect the harness using the included splice kit as directed; verify no pinched lines and properly seat quick‑connects. Cycle key several times to build pressure before first start.
MAINTENANCE
GENERAL_NOTES Module specs (typical): 10 A average draw; turbine design; strainer included; sending unit and tank pressure sensor included; 0.375 in quick‑connect outlets. Do not run the vehicle with a consistently low fuel level, which can overheat the pump. If codes persist after replacement, clear permanent DTCs with a scan tool and recheck fuel pressure and wiring.
